પોળનું સ્થાપત્ય અને લેસર કળા

Laser Joinery Meets Ahmedabad Pol Architecture

Translating 600-year-old carved wooden facades into contemporary laser-cut desktop keepsakes.

Laser Joinery Meets Ahmedabad Pol Architecture

Walking through the labyrinthine pols of Old Ahmedabad is a masterclass in vernacular wooden architecture. The intricate wooden brackets (todas), carved jharokhas, and interlocking joinery have withstood earthquakes and centuries of monsoon weather.

At Gujarati Objects, we set out to build modern objects that channel this architectural heritage without mimicking antique souvenirs. By combining high-density moisture-resistant MDF with 0.1mm CO₂ laser cutting, we achieve crisp, interlocking shadow-relief that honors Gujarat’s master carpenters (suthars).

Each object is calibrated to feel balanced in the hand, with hand-chamfered corners and matte protective sealants that age gracefully with daily touch.
